Our Ethos.

Updated: Mar 13, 2023

Our aim is to salvage non-recyclable and single use plastics and minimise our impact on the environment. The rise of fast fashion has had a devastating impact on the global environment, from the water used to produce garments and precious metals, to the exploitation of less economically developed nations.

Metal mining companies dump an estimated 180 million tonnes of toxic waste into our rivers, lakes and oceans per year! The creation of a 0.333 ounce gold ring creates 20 tonnes of toxic waste on its own.

We make a lot of our pieces from recycled metals, plastics and also upcycling vintage and broken jewellery, either as a whole pieces or elements. Many of these products would be discarded as waste, destined for landfill. Many councils in the UK don't accept metals into the recycling, so these would typically end up in landfill. To date, we have repurposed 60kg of metals, plastics and unwanted jewellery, which although is a drop in the ocean, it's a start.

We also source some of our materials from stock clearance and end of line findings, which would otherwise be disposed of.

Currently 90% of our range is either recycled or made from parts that would otherwise be scrapped. Where items are not from recycled materials such as Freshwater Pearls and gemstones, we focus on sourcing these from sustainable and ethical manufacturers.

Check out our video below for what we turn these materials into:

sustainable fashion, what is fast fashion, handmade jewellery, recycling incentives, reducing carbon footprint, waste, handmade, eco upcycling
