COMPETITION RULES
The Purple Elf Photo Book 2010 - "Through The Eyes of Innocence"
The closing date for entries for the next competition is midnight on Monday, March 1st 2010.

1. This competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over,(entries will be accepted from minors, providing parents or guardians permission is obtained) except for employees of Purple Elf, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.
2. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3. Entries should be submitted by ...
A) Email to photobook@purple-elf.co.uk. Entries must include the entrant’s name, address and telephone number. Email entries should include only one image file at a time, no larger than 2mb in size. Multiple entries will be accepted.
B) Through the Purple Elf website (www.purple-elf.co.uk/photobook) (A simple email only registration is required to upload)
C) By SMS Picture message from your mobile phone or PDA to 07852 889561
4. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.
5. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and if it has been published elsewhere or won a prize in any other photographic competition, please indicate this in your entry. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject (a model release form may be required – a copy is downloadable from www.purple-elf.co.uk/modelrelease.htm) and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
6. Intellectual copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Purple Elf to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition. Any additional publication fees will be paid to the copyright owner, subject to a 25% commission.
7. A maximum of 10 entries per entrant. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
8. The winning entry will be that that is judged to be the most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory. The winner will be notified within 14 days of the closing date of the competition (Midnight on Monday, March 1st 2010.).
9. All winning entries, and runner up entries will be published in the Purple Elf Photobook 2010. Additional copies will be available to all winners and runners up at a discounted price. Additional copies will also be available through various retail outlets in the UK, and online through Purple Elf, Amazon, Ebay etc. Copies will also be lodged with the British Library in accordance with ISBN registration guidelines.
10. The winners may be required to take part in publicity, but may also reserve the right to refuse.
11. The winner’s name and county may be disclosed to anyone who enquires within one month after the published closing date, by email with “Photobook Winners 2010” as the subject to winners2010@purple-elf.co.uk
12. The prizes as described will be available by March 31st 2010 . All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
13. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
14. Purple Elf is responsible for the first part of the promotion, which is the publication and adjudication of the competition. All other facilities connected with the provision of the prize are the responsibility of the prize providers.
15. This competition will be judged by a combination of the votes cast on the website (www.purple-elf.co.uk/photobook), and a panel chaired by accredited photographers.
16. UK law applies, and shall prevail in any disputes.
